Stayed at the George for a 2 night break in January booked through Superbreak.com. Hotel certainly lived up to its Trip Advisor reputation with well appointed accommodation (apart from no bath in en-suite) lovely restaurant serving excellent breakfasts and extremely friendly staff. The best thing about this hotel is its location on George Street which is right in the heart of everything but not with the noise of Princes Street. Would go back and reccommend without hesitation. Always look for deals, nobody pays the hotels official rates. Close

From the moment you walk into the hotel the staff are friendly, accomodating and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable with excellent standards of housekeeping. This is not a cheap hotel, so I would avoid if you are on a low budget. Well worth the extra cost. The hotel is situated within 1 minute of the main shopping area and 2 minutes from the Castle. Well worth the stay, we will be going back. Close

My husband and I had a Saturday night stay in the George Hotel. We went on the train and the hotel is only a five minute walk from Waverley Station. We arrived early and were able to check in and leave our luggage in reception. We got into our room after 3pm and were upgraded to an executive suite and had full scottish breakfast included in the offer. The room was lovely - quite large with plasma tv, lovely furniture and a huge comfy bed. The bathroom was small but beautifully fitted out. The service in the hotel was second to none. The breakfast was buffet style and was lovely although its expensive if you don't get it within an offer. The location is brilliant, its just off Princes Street and near all the restaurants and bars. We would definately stay again and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Close

The hotel was beautiful the building was elegant and spacious. I enjoyed my stay here very much and would love to stay there again. The staff were very pleasant and the hotel bar 'Tempus' was great to drink in. The location is great lots of bars and places to eat out and during the day lots of shops to visit as well as the tourists places. I was very happpy staying at this hotel and would recommend the hotel to everyone. Note. The only issue was the bathroom it did not have much room but everything else was so great it didn't bother me. Close

I booked the George because we used to live in Edinburgh and I knew that it was in a great location and it had a good reputation. It was a special occasion - our first night away from our children in fifteen years, so it mattered to me - I wanted a treat for both of us and was prepared to pay a bit more but still on a budget. We had a great stay. Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was lovely - clean and spacious, at the back of the hotel on the fifth floor, and was quiet even on a Saturday night in central Edinburgh. The staff we met smiled or greeted us, and helped us immediately with some small requests. My husband stays in lots of hotels with his work and is hard to please, and even he was impressed. We had a delicious cooked breakfast on Sunday morning which was included in our rate - we left it a bit late like everyone else and the dining room was busy, but this was not surprising. The quality of the food was very good. Staff were busy, and noticably neat and well turned out, Liam noticed when we needed more milk or coffee. When we got home I realised I might have left something of great personal value to me behind and my husband rang to see if it was there. Brad took responsibility and contacted housekeeping who had found it and kept it safe for us! I love the George! We had a great time, it's a lovely hotel - but what made it really special was the staff. Close
