"Budget with the capital B"

Avoid first floor in the second building! Basic room, loud hallways, squeaky entry door= no sleep:(:(::( Very old tv with 4 Spanish channels, old, sticky remote control. Yellow bottomed shower curtain!

"Good base for exploring the city"

The hotel is basically like a Spanish version of a travel lodge. All the basic amenities, nice and clean and comfortable. We had our own bathroom, but I think some of the rooms had a shared bathroom, as it is a hostel. There was also a breakfast room, which looked nice. But breakfast was an extra 4 euros a day per person, so we didn't bother as there were some nice bakeries and mini supermarkets just round the corner. The hotel staff are lovely and very helpful. The location of the hotel isn't the best, as its not in the main tourist parts of Barcelona, but the metro stop was near and the metro was easy and convenient to use. Ask the receptionist for directions, as its quite confusing. Overall the hotel is clean, comfortable and a good place to stay in order to explore the city.

This was a great find thanks to lastminute.com. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. The rooms are basic but of a good size. Overall it is very cheap for what you get so really can't complain at all.

This is a great hotel for the price. It is easy to get to from the airport, get the train to passeig de gracia and then stroll up to the hotel (or get the tube). Staff are friendly and welcoming and english speaking. The room was basic but all we wanted was somewhere to sleep. The entire hotel is clean, the rooms being cleaned and beds made every day. There is a communal kitchen facility downstairs, internet, laundry and outside seating area. The location of the hotel is ideal if like us you do not want to be in the city centre. Everything you could want is on the doorstep, shops,banks, cafes, bars. Gracia seems a safe and trendy area. There is a metro station around the corner but we never used it. The hotel is in walking distance of the town and major attractions. We bought a T10 ticket (10 journeys-can be used by all in the group for less than 10 euros) and did not use it apart from getting to the airport. We walked everywhere we wanted to go, sagrada familia, parc guell, la ramblas, gothic quarter and the town. It is great to spend a day strolling to wherever you want to go and then early evening on the way back having tapas and paella and finish off with a few beers around gracia. On the negative side it would be nice to have a kettle in the room rather then having to go downstairs to the communal kitchen. Also beware of the shower. It does pour water all over the floor which is no big deal but it is very very slippy. I give this hotel 5 stars because it is great value for money, clean, basic but comfortable and the hotel is in a great area.

Advertised as a hostel, but functions as an extremely clean, but basic hotel. The staff were extremely friendly throughout our visit, our room was massive and even had an extra bed in, so great value for money. Very close to the Lesseps Metro station so arriving from the airport was very easy. We caught the train to Sants Estacio then the Metro from there to Lesseps. Took about 45 mins to one hour in total. The hotel is in the residential neighbourhood, which we loved, because there were a lot of locals about, rather than tourists, which provided a pleasant change and we felt very safe in this neighbourhood as a result. Would recommend a local bar 3 minutes down the same road as the hotel called St Germain which we visited for both nights of our stay. The hotel was 5/10 minutes walk away from Park Guell which was one of the highlights of our trip. Other landmarks were easily reached by the fairly modern and safe metro. Our only negative aspect about the location was that there were not many nice restaurants nearby-just a lot of cafes and bars, so if you're looking for a hotel with plenty of restaurants nearby I would recommend searching near the Ramblas area. The breakfast was extremely basic, but functioned well and saved us searching for somewhere else, although don't expect much. There were probably a few cafes nearby which would have done a nicer breakfast for only a little bit more. Overall though, we were very impressed and would visit this establishment again if we came back to Barcelona.
