"Perfect spot for a city break in Prague"
Just been to Prague with friends for the second time and stayed at the Hotel Jalta in Wenceslas Square. This Hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the busy centre of Prague. It is within easy walking distance of all the attractions Prague has. The hotel itself was very good, it was clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The food was good but not great in the hotel and that is why I would rate it as a 4 star and not a 5 star as it claims. Prague is a stunning city with incredible architecture. Some of the buildings are quite stunning. Unfortunately it also has more than its fair share of down and outs and beggars, and when you are on holiday it is not nice to see people digging through litter bins for something to eat. One huge recommendation I would make is this. Avoid AAA taxis like the plague. We took one from the airport to the hotel. They promise you a 47% discount if you use them for the return journey but you do not get it and the driver we had was certifiably crazy. From the hotel to the airport he almost collided with 5 other vehicles, had a race with a taxi from another company, mounted the pavement to overtake a row of vehicles, ran through 2 red lights and at one stage was doing just under 100mph. As I said this guy was certifiable, an unbelievably dangerous person. When we arrived at the airport my wife and my friends wife were so scared they were literally shaking. We were so angered and disgusted with this morons performance that we went to the AAA desk to lodge a complaint about him. We told the girl on the desk exactly what had happened and told her something needed to be done before this idiot either killed somebody or gave someone a heart attack. This girl could not have been less interested. She put us through to another lady and she was exactly the same. She promised to look into the incident and phone me back. Needless to say she did not. So if you decide to go to Prague and I strongly recommend you do, then do not use this taxi company it will spoil your vacation. Finally 3 or 4 nights is probably long enough for your visit. Czech it out and enjoy.
"Very comfortable"
This was our first taste of Prague and the Hotel Jalta came highly recommended. First impressions were very good. The staff were extremely helpful and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The only negative point is, perhaps, that, for the price, our room was a bit on the small side. However, the bed was gigantic and very comfortable, so I suppose you can`t have it all ways. The COMO restaurant is affiliated to the hotel (offering a 10% discount to guests) but this is probably due a separate review.
All in all, we had a very pleasurable four night stay and would most certainly use the hotel again.
"Jalta hotel quality in great location"
My wife and i stayed here april 2013 for 3 days. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of all the attractions. There is a metro and a tram just outside the hotel. Travelling in from the airport was simple with the 119 bus and then the metro line 1 tio the museum. Cost 34 kr. The breakfast was very good with lots of varity.
"Centrally located with a pleasant outlook"
The Jalta Hotel was very centrally locatd on the main street just outside of the 'Old Town'. The reception clerks were very friendly and most helpful in answering all our questions and aiding us in choosing a city tour. The breakfast was amazing and served in very pleasant surroundings.
The room was a little small but adequate for two people and contained everything we needed.
This was our introduction to Prague and this hotel left us with a very positive impression.
"Hotel Jalta, Prague"
Ideally located overlooking Wenceslas Square. We spent 3 nights here over the early 2013 May bank holiday. The Jalta is within walking distance of all major tourist spots in Prague if you like walking and we do otherwise you miss so much. It is right next door to a metro station if you need to use that too. Good variety at breakfast including bubbly cava to celebrate a special occasion. Staff very friendly and helpful recommending a lovely Czech restaurant for our evening meal - the Blue Duck II. Taxi from airport arranged by hotel was 690 CZ Krone. Room very big with seating/lounge area. Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space too and there was a safe in the closet. Bathroom had a bath plus a separate shower cubicle and was very spacious. Queen size bed was very comfortable and room was quiet even though it overlooked Wenceslas Square (our room, 401 had a balcony overlooking square). COMO restaurant in hotel was busy throughout the day so obviously served good food and was a nice place to people watch in the evenings over a glass of wine. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
