"Good Holiday with drawbacks!"

3.0/5

Good food - lots of variety. Very near beach. Clean accommodation, bed sheets changed mid week. Nice view over pool area Downside if non-smoker like us. All rooms are non-smoking, as is lobby areas, lounge area and restaurant - which is great. Then Like us we had a balcony, which we had to keep shutting the door as there was smokers either side of our balcony - Yuk really smelly- also when we went into our bathroom could smell cigarette smoke from other room, so guess they were smoking on the loo! disgusting! Also on arriving to the Hotel was given a twin bed room, when we requested a double - took an hour to find a room we liked! Then two days in there was a leak from the room above in the bathroom, nothing was repaired until the day before we were going home! Went to breakfast. came back to our room to find rubble and dirt in the bathroom! No one advised us that work would be carried out!!

The Hotel is by the beach all the shops bars and restaurants, the good out ways any negatives. The staff will help you with anything. The indoor pool was heated there is a nice gym. The food is very good lots of choice at breakfast and dinner they caters for all. We liked walking along to a small Spanish bar a night it’s called Migjorn its about 15-20 min’s walk along the sea front towards calla bona. His drinks were a very good price. If you ask the staff at the Hotel they will point you in the right direction. To catch the bus to the caves of drach, there is also an express bus that go’s the Palma. there is a tourist inpharmation centre that has all the time tables and maps, a walk up to a small fortress is good exercise its a bit rocky in parts. but when your on the path its OK. The hotel is not 5***** it is a budget hotel and quite an old hotel we didn't play a lot for BB/EM we were on a budget. We could not complain about our experience.

The location of this hotel is very good as only a couple of minutes from the beach. The hotel itself is very clean as are the rooms although a little on the small size but how much time do we spend in our hotel rooms! My one big issue with this hotel is that the walls between the rooms is extremely thin!! you can hear everything, i.e., talking, snoring etc., which in our case was very annoying as we had an extremely loud snorer in the room next to ours & it was like he was in the same room as us, most annoying. Recommend you take ear plugs or put cotton wool in your ears. The reception staff were very helpful & the bar & restaurant staff were very pleasant. The food is ok, you get what you pay for. However, there was always a selection of food (Chicken & Pork everyday) but something for everyone. One complaint here is that the food could have been hotter & if would help if the plates were warm. We only stayed for 3 nights (4 days) so for a short break we were quite happy (except for the snorer!!) if we had stayed longer I would have asked to change rooms. The resort of Cala Millor is ok, unfortunately we did not have very good weather for 3 out of 4 days, so probably did not see it at its best. I have been to better beaches/resorts on the island.

"Hotel and town were more geared to German than to English but obviously not a problem."

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. The food is wholesome but quickly becomes samey. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The downside is the lack of insulation between the rooms, take earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We could almost hear everything the neighbours were saying - and that included regular brief very early morning sleep-talking sessions. There were no partitions between the balconies so no privacy for sunbathing. Right on the sea front although be prepared - when we were there the wind fair howled in off the sea (Easterly and cold). Only there 3 days so never discovered other facilities. Parking could be fraught in high season but in late April we were able to park within one block. Try a beach-front walk along to the old castle - more a lookout tower. The nearby nature reserve was a pleasant walk but we didn't really see much wildlife. Do go and see Alcudia old town with its thick Roman walls.

"Such a good holiday!"

My 4 friends and i stayed here at the end of March, we went for a beach holiday and just to get some time away. We had such a good time. we arrived very late at night around 11.30pm and we checked in with no problems. The receptionist then told us that there was food available in the dining hall. Our rooms were in the main block, we got a slight sea view but we were not too bothered as we didn't intend on spending much time in our rooms. The room was spacious (2 twin beds with bedside tables and built in wardrobes) and the bathroom was very clean. We had our towels changed most days if we asked, and had our rooms made up every day (the cleaning staff were very friendly) The food was really tasty (if you like spanish food, being on a spanish island, then you're in for a winner) they had fresh salads and meats with dessings, and a hot plate with hot meats and fish for you to choose (there are options of chips and chicken nuggets, if you like basic food.) The breakfast was continental, but also had some hot foods e.g boiled eggs, beans, spanish sausage that kind of thing. The bar staff were all so friendly, we made friends with some of them with them getting to know our first names made us feel like we were definately on holiday, a special shout goes to miki who made our nights! Serge the (childrens) entertainer was so friendly too, we enjoyed some of the things in the evening and in the day time he would come and ask if we were interested in doing some little trips but never pestered you. It's mainly Dutch, German and spanish, in which calla millor is geared up to. If you want english you need to head a little further up to cala bona. There are lots of things to do (we went in off season but there is still plenty) boat rides, bike hire, walking to the castle on the beach and general shopping round town. there are a few bars and a couple of clubs ask the staff and they will tell you. 2 Negatives- you have to pay 3 Euros a day for the hairdryers and the rooms have connecting doors (which are locked) and can be to a strangers room.
