Crowne Plaza Maastricht is located on the bank of the river Maas, less than a mile from Saint Servaas Basilic, and approximately five miles from Maastricht Aachen Airport. This location is also half a mile from Bonnefanten (museum) and Maastricht Centraal train station, three miles from the Saint Pietersberg caves and Kazematten, five miles from Holland Casino Valkenburg, 20 miles from Liege (Belgian city) and Aachen (German city), and 55 miles from Brussels Zaventem Airport.

"Worst Crowne Plaza I have been to"

On the way back to the UK we needed a place to stay for the night. Seeing as for work when normally in the Netherlands I stay in Eindhoven and normally in the Holiday Inn I thought let's see which Holiday Inn they have in Maastricht. We saw it had a Crowne Plaza so thought we would check it out as we needed a room for the night. We arrived and were given the price which we kind of had to accept as no where else we could really go. Now at this point I am thinking, Crowne Plaza, this has to be better then a normal Holiday Inn, oh how we were wrong! The price for breakfast was 20 more euros, the parking was 18 euros I believe, wifi was 3euro an hour, 17 for the day. Now these things I get included for the normal price in Eindhoven when I have to stay there and I also get treated with more respect, this confused me as I am paying more for less at this Crowne Plaza and I have stayed at a few over the years! The first problem I had was at the check in desk, I informed the lady at the counter I was a priority card holder however this time didn't have my card. She just said email them to get your points. Again at the Eindhoven Holiday Inn they can look me up on the system and add my details then but not at the Crowne Plaza? Once I got my the card didn't work so went downstairs and got a new one, again didn't work so they sent someone up, they then let me in and got me a new card but only after trying it themselves as if I was some idiot who doesn't know how to use a card. The room was ok but a over thought in design (room 232), the bathroom smelt stale as if it hadn't been cleaned correctly. However the bed was comfy and I slept well. Next day we had breakfast and I fail to see where the money goes, once again same sort of food and drink as Holiday Inn Eindhoven with smaller chairs at the tables. One colleague when arriving at breakfast was asked which room he was in what seemed a rude way. Just because we were not suited like 90% of those there I do not see why we were treated differently and how the extra costs justify the extras. If I ever stay here again in Masstricht I will not be staying at the Crowne Plaza since a basic Holiday Inn in Eindhoven is better then this hotel!.

A very nice hotel, close to the station ( 5 min by foot) and its a walking distance away from the centre of town and shopping streets. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Just too bad that the wifi isnt for free and if you use the internet its rather expensive ( 3 euro an hour or 17 euro for 24 hours. )

We stayed here with kids at short notice. The staff was very friendly, flexible and accommodating. Check in & out were hassle-free. Parking was available in a spacious garage under the hotel. The hotel lobby was very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The room was clean but with a little dated interior. The view over the Maas & town from the room was great. The surrounding area had some quaint little shops and was peaceful. The hotel has a restaurant (&breakfast restaurant) within it right on the bank of the Maas, which was really nice on the summer evening.

I've had the pleasure to stay in the suite (room 214). Beautiful 2 story room with two balconies facing the Maas river. Room was excellent clean, except for the little sink in the toilet which was covered with chalk. Bed was very spacy and comfy. Room had two flatscreen televisions, a DVD player, a Senseo coffee machine with coffee pads and a hot water kettle for making tea. Like with most hotels the airconditioner even at its coldest setting could not cool the room well enough. The location of the hotel is very nice. The city center is right accross the Maas river, just a 10 minute walk away. It is fairly easy to reach the hotel by car. There are a lot of roadworks going on in the access roads towards Maastricht, so you might face a little challenge there. It's also within walking range from the Maastricht train station. Parking costs 22 euro per night for a spot in the closed off Q-Park garage next to the hotel (23 euro for non hotel visitors). Breakfast was insanely high priced at 26 euro a person. That's really outrageous for a breakfast! There was a good choice of bread and food and the quality was good, but still this price for just a breakfast is a ripoff. There are many many bars and restaurants within minutes of walking distance where you can get a breakfast for much less money. Also around the corner is an Albert Heijn supermarket. Another thing to be ashamed off for the hotel manager is to charge money for internet access. That's really not done anymore in 2013. Prices for it are quite high too. Summarized: + Location + Rooms (at least the suite) - Breakfast price - Paid internet access

We go to Maastricht twice a year for a weekend and have tried about every hotel in the city by now. The Crown Plaza is a very nice hotel but it lacks the nostalgic feeling you have everywhere else in the city because it is 'just' a good, international orientated hotel. We booked a standard room and got a free upgrade when we checked in, nice! Good room, very good bed. The central system in the bathroom makes a lot of noise and you can not switch it of your selves, it stops at 0.00 hours. If you are a light sleeper it might bother you even when the bathroomdoor is closed. The hotel is situated at one of our favorite areas of Maastricht, perfect and everything in walking distance. From the breakfast/dinner area and terrace you have a fantastic view on the river, the bridge and town. You can reach the next door Parking directly from inside the hotel, convenient!
