Playa d'en Bossa is a great little resort, and features the longest stretch of beach on the island of Ibiza. Here you’ll find a fine selection of restaurants, cafés and bars, as well as good facilities for shopping. The water is shallow and clear, making it a great spot for diving, as well as providing a safe environment for young children. Unsurprisingly, holidays to Playa d'en Bossa are very popular with families.
The heart of Playa d'en Bossa is the long promenade that runs parallel to the seafront. Here you’ll find a great choice of tapas bars and restaurants, most of which feature large outdoor areas for al fresco dining. The local cuisine features a lot of fresh fish and seafood, which is often grilled, and served alongside salads and seasonal vegetables. There are some interesting choices on the tapas menus, and most restaurants in Playa d'en Bossa serve a selection of wines produced right here on Ibiza. Some of the more popular eateries here include the mouth-watering Moorea Grill and the upmarket Sands Beach Restaurant.
The beach itself offers a great combination of fine sand and clear waters, and is a great place for swimming and sunbathing. Unlike the larger resorts at San Antonio and Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa is a little on the quieter side, so you won’t feel too crowded on the beach. You’ll also be able to find a number of water sports on offer around Playa d'en Bossa, including banana boats and snorkelling. This area is particularly popular with windsurfers as well, with a south wind that provides the perfect conditions for an exhilarating ride.
Hikers and nature enthusiasts would do well to head south down the beach, towards the watchtower and the dunes. Here you’ll find fewer tourists, and a greater chance to enjoy the rugged natural beauty of the area. However, if you’re in search of that classic Ibiza beach party, then wander north up the beach, in the direction of Ibiza town. Here you’ll find the Bora Bora Bar, a great venue that hosts some fantastic beach parties.
A holiday to Playa d'en Bossa is a great option for anyone who wants to explore Ibiza at their own pace. There’s more going on here than there is at some of the island’s smaller resorts, and yet you’ll still be avoiding the massive crowds for which the capital is so famous. Not only that, but this compromise also offers great value for money, making a holiday to Playa d'en Bossa the perfect way to enjoy Ibiza on a budget!
