Flights to Belfast this weekend

Fly out to the capital of Northern Ireland with and experience what an authentic Irish city is really made of. Belfast has been home to one of Europe's most famous ports, and now is a hub for all kinds of different cultures.

In the day

Explore Belfast and its constantly redeveloping buildings with and you won't be disappointed. The city is increasing in popularity, with more and more visitors flocking for short breaks and long holidays in this interesting new place.

If you're looking for a piece of history then Belfast City Hall is a great place to go and learn more about the city. The hall itself contains plenty of artistic attractions, including a famous Baroque masterpiece. For a more modern slice of history Crumlin Road Gaol has a gruesome history, and gives you the opportunity to take the same steps that the ex-inmates once took from the courthouse to the prison. Not far away you will find the spot where the Titanic was created. Titanic Belfast has a range of impressive and interesting displays for you to learn more about the world's most famous ship.

In the night

Belfast is famous for its friendly locals, accommodating land lords and fantastic night life, so enjoying yourself in the evenings is no problem at all. In the summertime the night life starts a little earlier, with many popular beer gardens playing host to hordes of tourists and residents alike. In the winter you will find traditional Irish pubs in abundance, often with working indoor fires and crowded bars.

The Crown Liqueur Saloon is a popular throw back to Victorian times and a great example of the kind of location most tourists expect. For something a little different Bittle's Bar is a nearby free house within what looks like a giant chimney. The quirky look to this cylindrical pub makes it a big hit with tourists.

The Garrick is a well-known bar with traditional Irish stringed instruments and regular music. The pub has made a name for itself through its appeal to tourists and doesn't struggle to fill its rooms quickly, so be sure to get there early if you want a seat.

Ways to stay

There are a variety of hotels to choose from in Belfast, ranging from a cheap and central Holiday Inn Express to a beautiful old-fashioned Ramada Encore. One popular way to enjoy Belfast is via Country Cottages and Bed & Breakfasts just outside the city limits. The city's reputation makes it easy to travel in and out if you do choose a nearby retreat.
