More about Aer Lingus flights

Aer Lingus was founded in 1936 by the Irish Government, and is today the second biggest airline in Ireland in terms of passengers carried. Between the years 2006 and 2015 the airline was privatised, and is now a part of the International Airlines Group. Its very first flight carried five passengers from Dublin to Bristol on board a De Havilland Dragon plane. Today, cheap Aer Lingus flights carry over 11 million passengers each year to more than 70 destinations across Ireland, Britain, Continental Europe and the USA. This airline has a reputation for its quality services, value for money, and its friendly staff onboard Aer Lingus flights. The name Aer Lingus translates from Irish to mean Air Fleet. The fleet is composed of a mix of Airbus and Boeing aircraft on which the well-known shamrock symbol is featured on the tailfins of every Aer Lingus plane.

Aer Lingus is frequently adding new routes, and in May 2016 their non-stop flight between Dublin and Los Angeles commenced operations. There are now four Aer Lingus flights to Los Angeles a week and cheap Aer Lingus flights can be easily sourced through lastminute.com. The different types of seats that may be available include Standard, Choice, Exit, and Premium. Choice seats are located at the front of the plane for a speedy exit, Exit seats are situated close to the emergency exit and feature extra legroom, and Premium seats can be converted to flat beds. Aer Lingus have an excellent record for punctuality, and 9 out of 10 passengers that travelled on cheap Aer Lingus flights between January and April 2016 were satisfied. This airline operates a rewarding frequent flyer programme.

Travellers on Aer Lingus flights have a cabin bag allowance of up to 10kg. This should measure no more than 55 x 40 x 24cm. Passengers may also take an additional item, such as a laptop, small handbag, or a baby changing bag. The checked luggage allowance varies according to whether it's a short haul flight within Europe or a transatlantic flight, and the seat class. On cheap Aer Lingus European flights the total weight allowance is 40kg, and the maximum number of hold luggage per passenger is three. In general, people travelling on Aer Lingus flights between North America and the UK may take one bag of up to 23kg. Business Flex Fare travellers may take three bags with a total combined weight of up to 69kg. Those travelling with children may also check in a collapsible pushchair and either a car seat or a travel cot. Pets may travel in the hold.
