The major new musical based on Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved classic opens at the London Palladium from June 2017 featuring the beloved The Wind in the Willows characters Toad, Rat, Mole, and Badger.

The Wind in the Willows West End production stars Rufus Hound as the amazing Mr Toad and reunites Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and Olivier Award-winning composer and lyricist George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Other members of The Wind in the Willows London cast include Gary Wilmot as Badger, Craig Mather as Mole, and Simon Lipkin as Rat.

The Wind in the Willows musical follows the impulsive Mr Toad whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall.

Featuring eye-poppingly beautiful design, exuberant choreography and a gloriously British score, The Wind in the Willows play is an explosion of anarchy, humour and heart.

The Wind in the Willows London venue is The London Palladium, a Grade II West End theatre built in 1910. The climax of the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock spy thriller The 39 Steps was filmed at the Palladium. From 1955–67 the theatre was the setting for the top-rated ITV variety show Sunday Night at the London Palladium and it also saw the beginning of Beatlemania on 13 October 1963. Some of the big names to have performed here include Carmen Miranda, Judy Garland, Sophie Tucker, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, the Andrews Sisters with Vic Schoen and his orchestra, Bob Hope, Liza Minnelli, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frankie Laine and Johnnie Ray.
