In the beginning, there was Assissiaï – Slava’s character. A clown with a number of faces. Then the idea was developed so that each facet of his persona was the foundation for a different character. This led to the formation of a troupe of clowns where each participant had a distinctive personality, yet was familiar and instantly recognizable to anyone in the audience. This mixture of characters became the Licedei theatre (“Those who make faces”).
During its 25 year history, the theatre became increasingly popular and loved amongst the Russian public and on national television by using clowning to depict the everyday absurdities of life. You can now see this unique show in London with our tickets for Slava's Snowshow.
