When did The London Dungeon open?

One of the city’s must-see tourist attractions, the London Dungeon has been entertaining visitors for nearly 40 years. You’ll experience 1000 years of London’s grisly history during the 110 minute journey as you and your companions walk through the Dungeon from show to show accompanied by professional actors.

Each show presents a story based on real history and legends, featuring infamous characters such as Guy Fawkes, Sweeney Todd, the Fleet Street barber, and Jack the Ripper. This immersive experience includes 360° sets and masterful storytelling from professional actors. Your journey will take you through London’s foggy East End streets, via plague-ridden houses and a gruesome torture chamber.

What to see at The London Dungeon

Descend into the heart of the Dungeon in a medieval lift with its sounds of grinding cogs and chains, then join Anne Boleyn on her final journey along the Thames to The Tower of London, accompanied by intense fog, darkness, choppy waters, and scurries of rats. Watch out for Henry VIII who appears as a 3D talking head, played by legendary actor Brian Blessed.

Travel back to 1665 and meet the Plague Doctor during the Black Plague before heading on to 1666 to witness the Great Fire of London turn the city into a raging inferno, from its beginnings in a Pudding Lane bakery to St Paul’s Cathedral.
