Oh You Lucky Bloggers – The Top 50 Blogs About Good Stuff

78

Congratulations to all of the bloggers who have made the brand new for 2014: Oh You Lucky Bloggers 50 list.

We last updated this back in 2010 but the blogosphere has come a long way since then! Some of the blogs from the original list have stood the test of time, while others have fallen by the wayside to that archive in the cloud, but hot on their heels are some incredibly rich and visual musing that just had to be included.

There is something very special about discovering a blog that has the extra good stuff factor – we all need a little inspiration now and then. So we’ve been on an online odyssey to seek out the best in travel, music and lifestyle blogs, from across the country and have grouped them together into categories to make it easier.

In recognition of these great blogs, it’s time for you to put your feet up, grab a coffee (or flat white; it’s not 2010 anymore) and enjoy the journey – each of these blogs has been chosen for its unique personality and tantalising content, so it’s going to be a great read.

Do you want to know how we reached our conclusions? Well, there has been a bit of “scientific” jiggery pokery with boring techy stuff. But the driving factor in choosing this 50 (and it was incredibly hard to whittle these down) was because of their ability to deliver genuinely compelling and engaging content about their chosen subject areas.

I hope you enjoyed the list, and please feel free to suggest a blog by leaving a comment below.

  1. Thank you so much for including our blog in this awesome list, to be up there with those gorgeous clever ladies from BitchBuzz and the legends that are the Domestic Sluts is quite something for a knackered old bag like me. x

  2. We want in!

the other side is the missing piece of the London jigsaw. A place for people to involve themselves in all things that are good about London. Don’t know about it yet? You do now…

    see you there – Sam

  3. Ah, hello. Well, we are delighted to see some of our favourite blogs on this list. Obviously, a little grouchy to find you haven’t got us on there. We’ll get over it.

We must just say, you need to change ‘it’s unique personality’ up there in your introduction to ‘its unique personality’, because, of course, what you want is the possessive form.

    Standards, please.

    Regards,

  7. I second Aaron. I’ll take you all out for a round one day.

Thanks so much for including my little old beauty blog Beautywoome.com on your list amidst all that fabulosity. I’ll try to keep churning out observations (and rants) and the beauty front lest I lose your interest!

Take care and let me know if there’s anything you want to see on das blog… working on spa maps for several cities, so I’ll let you know when they’re live.

    xx Jess @beautywoome

  9. If your readers are looking for some travel from across the pond. “What a Trip” is based in San Francisco, California, yet covers travel from Northern California and beyond.

@Nancydbrown on Twitter for all things travel.

  10. Great list! New site filled with simple, thought-provoking good things…www.goodoodles.com. I am a big fan of good things, good content in the media and good ideas. My adventure to send out a bit of all that…rippling across the pond to reach all the good in people. Good spreading good…wonder if it will work? Positive thinking tells me it has to…one drop, ripple, idea at a time. Cheers, April

  17. My blog is a foodie’s tour of Bologna with recipes from my favourite restaurants. The city has two great attractions for eaters. It has Italy’s best regional cusine – in the view of most Italians (in their more dispassionate moments) – and it has the most enthusiastic eating culture. It also has a glorious cityscape, with miles of ochre coloured porticos and an unspoilt historic centre: a perfect backdrop to good food.

People outside Italy vaguely recognise the appeal of Bologna – they eat spag bol, lasagne, parmesan and balsamic – but it rarely figures in their travel plans. Fine, nobody wants Bologna to be swamped with tourists like Florence and Rome, pushing up prices and diluting quality.

Now, if you don’t want to or can’t go to Bologna, you can enjoy cucina bolognese at home with my blog – almost, for what you’ll miss is the buzz of a city where you live to eat.

This time next year the blog will have become a book, in time for Christmas 2011.

  18. There is something very special about discovering a blog that has the extra good stuff factor – for me it’s not just a window into another world which I want to know more about, it’s about inspiration too.

  19. Spot on with this write-up, I truly think this website needs much more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read much more, thanks for that info.

  20. Nooo, damn you , why did you do this?? (or why did a find this site rather)
I’m quit of a blog-addict and you just opened the box for me… i will never get my life back

  21. I recently moved from Australia to London and I find these blogs very helpful and interesting. I love hearing about everyone else’s experiences and tips on how to survive in this concrete city!
I started a little blog on my trip so far with any luck you might check it out!

  22. We’re a gaggle of volunteers and opening a new scheme in our community. Your web site offered us with helpful information to work on. You have done a formidable job and our whole community might be thankful to you.

  23. Hi, Neat post. There’s a problem with your website in internet explorer, may test this? IE still is the market chief and a huge element of other people will omit your excellent writing due to this problem. Check out my website to get more info about car insurance in California, if you like.
