Six of the Best Places in the World to get Married

1

All weddings are special, but some weddings are really special. Event planning specialists Chillisauce hear all sorts of tales of dream wedding destinations from excited would-be brides and grooms every day. Here are six of the best places to get hitched in style:

Hyams Beach, Australia

Close your eyes and picture a perfect, white sand beach and there’s a fair chance it looks pretty much like Hyams Beach in New South Wales. In fact, so white is the sand that it has even earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Hyams Beach

Nearly 200km south of Sydney and with the nearest village having a population of just 290, it is wonderfully remote and tranquil, free from the bustle of some of Oz’s more famous beaches – perfect.

Loch Lomond, Scotland

For rustic beauty the lochs of Scotland are hard to beat and Loch Lomond is among the very best. Cute churches and fantastic hotels are dotted along the bonnie banks of the loch, meaning couples can get married against a stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains and sparkling, icy water in the winter.

Loch Lomond

During the warmer months you can have a ceremony on the shoreline beaches or even on board a boat. You’re sure to enjoy the traditional Scottish hospitality too and there’s no better place to toast the newlyweds with a wee dram of whisky.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Italy has long been renowned as a destination for lovers and every beauty spot along the stunning Amalfi Coast simply oozes romance.

Amalfi Coast

Ancient churches, free-flowing wine and dramatic views perched high above the cliffs all help make this one of the most in-demand locations for overseas wedding ceremonies.

The Maldives, Indian Ocean

When it comes to paradise islands, the island nation of The Maldives pretty much ticks all the boxes.

The Maldives

A luxury destination for celebrity holidaymakers, honeymooners and those looking for a touch of class for their wedding ceremony too, you can tie the knot on soft, white sand and along palm-fringed beaches overlooking tropical, crystal clear waters. This is a place for high end holidays at their best and you can expect service, treatment and accommodation to match.

Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria, Germany

If your bride-to-be has always dreamed of a fairytale wedding, then Germany’s picture-perfect Neuschwanstein Castle looks like it has been lifted straight from the pages of a Disney storybook.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Weddings are not allowed in the castle itself but the couple can enjoy a ceremony on the grassy lawn below, with the castle making a stunning backdrop, while there is a chapel at the nearby Hohenschwangau castle with a view of Neuschwanstein. Themed hotel suites and horse and carriage rides add to the fairytale feel.

Jade Mountain, St Lucia

Billed as St Lucia’s most luxury romantic resort, Jade Mountain boasts views of both of  The Pitons – the iconic volcanic landforms which rise majestically out of the sea.

Jade Mountain

Jade Mountain is a naturally constructed spa resort, free from  distractions such as telephones, televisions and radios and with luxury touches such as private infinity pools, perfect for the happy couple to celebrate in true style.

  1. We got married at a hotel near Loch Lomond in August 2012 and spent our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast. It was beautiful! What a lucky girl, two places on your list in one wedding : )
