It’s been one heck of a week…roll on the rest of the summer….
The only words that I can use to describe the past 10 days would be ‘surreal’ and ‘unbelievable’. Since finding out that lastminute.com had offered me the role of Globe Trotter, everything seems to have happened so fast. Following my redundancy I moved out of my flat in Horsforth in Leeds and transported my world’s belongings back to my parent’s house in Leicester. I couldn’t quite believe I had collected so much in just two years since leaving University.
In the past week I have been to blog school, showcased my modelling skills in an underwater photo shoot and dived into the media spotlight with a series of interviews. Despite all of this I can still honestly say it hasn’t really sunk in yet. As I write this blog I am flying out to Dubai: since I last flew long haul things have definitely changed. Films, music, TV programmes are all at my fingertips although it’s a slight pity when all I want to do is sleep!!
The highlight so far definitely has to be the photo shoot on Wednesday although I don’t think my lovely girlfriend was too impressed with being woken up at 6am for the taxi! When I was informed that the shoot was to be underwater I expected to being going to a local leisure swimming pool. When we stopped outside of a private mansion in Surrey I was quite literally speechless. How could I not enjoy this experience?!
All I can say now, as I sit on the plane to Dubai, is this really is going to be ‘One Heck of a Summer’. Hopefully you all can share in my experiences and maybe take some inspiration from my adventures. After all, everything I will get to do you can too!
P.S Feel free to post comments and suggestions for my travels.
