Yes, it’s true, we are sending not one but three Globe Trotters on an amazing trip.

Without any further ado, I’m happy to reveal that we have chosen Manchester resident Craig Connor, 24, as a Globe Trotter for lastminute.com and he will be the guest blogger here at the lastminute.com blog.

‘We have been inundated with applicants from Manchester looking for a dream travel job,’ said Mark Bower the lifestyle expert at lastminute.com (pictured above with Craig). ‘With 40% of UK workplaces affected by the current economic climate lastminute.com is thrilled to help Craig get away from it all for a bit and make the most of his free time.’

Craig is delighted: “I am thrilled to be chosen as the lastminute.com Globe Trotter and will be flying the flag for Manchester and the North West. Bring it on! “

Craig, from Romiley in Stockport, is a former travel rep with a passion for travelling is in need of a career break. Craig has travelled extensively and is looking forward to getting out on the road again.

From today, Craig will begin his journey by showcasing the best of Manchester as part of a trip of a lifetime that includes travelling over 25,000 miles, spending over 40 nights away, visiting eight cities across three continents – in three months – including New York, Barcelona and Tunisia. He will get the whole 5* lifestyle, equivalent to a £15,000 trip.

Our winner Craig Connor is delighted: “I am thrilled to be chosen as the lastminute.com Globe Trotter and will be flying the flag for Manchester and the North West. Bring it on! “

Go Craig! I’ll be looking forward to reading about your exploits, you lucky guy, as I am stuck here in Lilliput. Regards from the USA, Ron

  2. Nice trick. I note it is 12.40pm there and Maidenhead a nice 16 to 18 day. Hope that extends to where ever you got to. Driving to Scotland idneed you sound like a couple of Aussies let loose on the roads with no respect for English distances. Once you settle in, down the road will be too far to go as I understand it. Getting a bit excited about the trip as we leave on Tue. Will try to pack before we go. Had several good intentions but no action yet. Going to visit NAn for breakfast Mon. That might be a sufficient trigger. Lots to do & decreasing time to do it so back to work. Will save the rest of the news for when we get there. Have a beautiful weekend and thank you for the blog. We really enjoy it. Will take some entries for Nan to read. She quite enjoyed the last lot I took her. Love Paul & Michelle
